Flu vaccinations and coronavirus booster vaccinations started last Tuesday in Huittinen. Like last year, the vaccination is given to the upper arm in the former Kuninkaisten-nursing home.

Appointments can be booked from the website of Satakunta welfare area. This is the first year that authentication requiring bank credentials is required.

For someone not that familiar with computers making an appointment requires a little more faith and patience now, but it can be done, encourages Kaisu Härkälä, the site manager of the welfare area Huittinen.

If electronic booking is not possible, you can also book an appointment by phone.

The first option is to call your own nurse. If there is no nurse in charge, or if they cannot be reached, then you can call the Huittinen health center directly, says Härkälä. The number is 044 772 8420.

Härkälä adds that only adults are vaccinated at the vaccination site in the former nursing home.

–Children are vaccinated at the child health clinic, school children at school and home care clients at home and those living in housing services are vaccinated in their own homes in Kaariranta, Annala and so on.

If you are not entitled to the free vaccination, but want to get vaccinated, you should contact your responsible nurse.

–With a prescription, you can pick up a vaccine from the pharmacy, which the nurse in charge will inject, Härkälä says.
