The sports field of Huittinen is in need of a quick renovation. The Acting Technical Director, Seija Holmi’s proposal for the technical committee meeting on tuesday was to upgrade the field to national championships level, not keep it at a local and regional level.
The difference between these two options was the grandstand coverage. If Huittinen wants to host track and field competitions on the national level, the grandstand must have a cover. The estimated price for this would be 50 000 euros.
Without the cover, the estimate for the entire renovation is 1 050 000 euros versus 1 100 000 euros with it included.
It appears from the original project plan that for the sports field, it is intended to demolish the current performance venues and the asphalt base, and to install new asphalt and permanent pavement with a water-permeable flexible coating. At the same time, an open rain gutter is installed, and the manhole covers are replaced. Renewable performance places include, for example, pit boxes and throwing rings.
In terms of buildings, the measures include renewing the wooden structures of the stand and repairing the foundation structures and building a roof over the open space. The purpose is also to build a completely new announcement and paint camera building. It is also intended to buy new sports equipment.
The goal of the renovation is to make the sports field a high-quality, versatile space for the people of Huittinen.
After the technical committee has processed the plan, it will move on to the municipality. However the technical comittee decided, that the intended project was too expansive and a new, cheaper paln is needed.
